Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado was established in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt to preserve the ancient culture of the Ancestral Pueblo people along with the cliff dwellings and other archaeological remnants of the ancient Puebloan Indians, also called 'Anasazi'.
