Honoring Legacy and Heritage

Dorothy Williams Havens & Todd Evans, Founders

Dorothy and Todd's experiences laid the foundation for Buffalo River Co's mission: honoring and renewing heritage, discovering stories hidden in old barns and prints, creating new American heirlooms for future generations.

Heritage lives in moments that evoke something deeper. The scent of curing tobacco smoke in autumn air that instantly transports you to a simpler time. A barn door jamb worn smooth by generations of hands passing through, each touch leaving an invisible mark of time. The surprising weight of old-growth white oak that speaks to strength and permanence in a world of disposable things. These intangible qualities remind us of family, authenticity, and values passed down through generations.

For us, heritage isn't just about preserving the past - it's about being a bridge. We take century-old tobacco barn timbers, their surfaces telling stories through aged patina, and transform them into new family dining tables. We find historical prints that captured authentic American moments and carefully preserve them as museum-quality reproductions. In each piece, we honor what came before while creating something for tomorrow.

Through Tobacco Barn Revival, which emerges directly from Dorothy's tobacco farming background and Todd's passion for renewal, we transform century-old tobacco barns into heirloom-quality furniture. Each piece preserves the character earned through decades of use - not manufactured to look aged, but genuinely shaped by time and the lives lived around it. Our furniture collections come from real barns, documenting each story to pass on to friends and customers. These tables represent real American families whose lives were supported by the very timbers now transformed into new heirlooms.

Heritage Prints preserves America's visual history through reproductions of rare historical prints. We carefully restore images from the historic Buffalo River Library collection and other prestigious institutions, maintaining their authentic character while making them accessible to contemporary homes. Each print carries forward its own journey - not a mass-produced replica but a faithful representation of American moments.

Through our Story Journal, we share the stories behind of our new American heirlooms - from the farms where our barn wood originated to the history captured in our prints. From 100 harvests on this farm to the next 100 Thanksgiving dinners at your home.

For the love of family, friends, tradition, values, tobacco farming, art, craftsmanship, and of course, trees.
